varios partidos sin que se viera a Kevin Youkilis y Bobby Valentine darse la
mano.
Youkilis, ex tercera base de Boston y
quien fue cambiado a Chicago en junio, volverá al Fenway Park el lunes para el
inicio de una serie de ambos equipos. El veterano fue canjeado en parte por la
difícil relación que tenía con Valentine, quien está en su primer año como
manager de los Medias Rojas.
En abril, mientras Youkilis pasaba por
problemas al bate y de ligeras lesiones, Valentine cuestionó la entrega al
juego del antesalista, comentario que causó un revuelo tanto en el clubhouse de
los Patirrojos como en los medios de comunicación.
"No tengo nada que decir sobre
todo eso", dijo Youkilis el domingo al preguntársele sobre el supuesto
conflicto entre él y Valentine. "Ya superé todo eso de Boston este año.

vaya bien contra su equipo. Entonces nunca se sabe qué van a hacer. Creo que
será una buena recepción."
Youkilis escribió una carta a los fans
de los Medias Rojas que fue publicada el domingo en ESPNBoston.com. El
antesalista dijo que pensaba que dicha comunicación no iba a salir al público
hasta el lunes, pero el mensaje fue claro: él está agradecido por su tiempo en
Boston.
"Va a ser bueno reencontrarme con
algunas personas", dijo. "Será bueno ver a algunos de los peloteros
con los que jugué y gente con la que he compartido en esa ciudad. Será bueno
ver a algunos amigos que viven allí, amigos que serán de toda la vida."
